Ingredients:
200g Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
2 tablespoons sesame oil (for cooking)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tablespoon fresh ginger (grated)
1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free option)
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon honey (optional, for sweetness)
200g bean sprouts (washed and drained)
1/4 cup green onions (chopped, for garnish)
1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional, for spice)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
1 teaspoon lime juice (optional, for a fresh tang)
Instructions:
Step 1: Prepare the Shrimp
Season the shrimp with salt and pepper. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Step 2: Stir-Fry the Garlic and Ginger
In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and stir-fry for about 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
Step 3: Cook the Bean Sprouts
Add the bean sprouts to the skillet and stir-fry for about 2-3 minutes, just until they begin to soften slightly but still retain their crunch.
Step 4: Make the Sauce
In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and chili flakes (if using). Pour this sauce over the bean sprouts and stir everything together.
Step 5: Combine the Shrimp
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and toss everything together until the shrimp is heated through and coated with the sauce.
Step 6: Serve
Serve the Shrimp and Bean Sprouts immediately, garnished with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and a drizzle of lime juice for added freshness.
